Lynn Conner Shoemaker

Born in Iredell County on April 21, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Manuel Dover Conner and Pansy Elizabeth Moses Conner.

In addition to her parents, Lynn was also preceded in death by one brother, Kevin Conner.

Lynn retired from Novant Health – Rowan Medical Center after 26 years of service. She was a Registered Nurse in the Labor & Delivery Department.

She was an avid reader, enjoyed crocheting, and spending time in the mountains. But her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 50 years, Charles Ray Shoemaker and her children, Carrie (Steve) Melton, Charles Ray (Lisa) Shoemaker, Jr., and Matthew (Jenny) Shoemaker.

She is further remembered by her grandchildren, Michael “Bubba” (Katie) Melton, Rachel Shoemaker, Conner Melton, Bryson Shoemaker, Landon Shoemaker, Sadie Melton, Raelyn Shoemaker and Grayson Shoemaker; one brother, David (Carolyn) Conner; one sister, Vickie (Howard) Peacock and many loving nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 15, 2025, from 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home.

The funeral service celebrating Lynn’s life will begin at 1:30 PM in the Northcrest Chapel of the funeral home, with entombment to follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.

During her life, Lynn cared for so many newborns as they began their journey on the road called life. As she neared the end of her journey, there were wonderful caretakers that provided exceptional care and love not only to her but her family. In thoughtful consideration, memorial donations may be made in Lynn’s memory to Harris Hospice 200 Hawthorne Ln, Charlotte, NC 28204.
