Obituary of Marcellene Boger Graham
Marcellene Boger Graham, 93, of China Grove, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Liberty Commons Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of Rowan County. She had been a resident at Caremoor Assisted Living in Kannapolis, NC for several years. Born in Davidson County on March 21, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Lee Roscoe Boger and Mattie Motley Boger. In addition to her parents, one daughter, Caroline Seagraves and two brothers, Lee Roscoe Boger, Jr. and Donald Gale Boger, also preceded Marcellene in death. Marcellene began her working career at the age of fourteen for the Salisbury Post as a bicycle carrier. She later worked in textiles and retired from Britthaven of Kannapolis as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She was a member of South China Grove United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school, was a past UMW President and served on the Communion Committee. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter Kelly DeJesus and husband, Michael of China Grove; brother, James Max Boger and wife Norma of Moncks Corner, SC; grandchildren, Sara Flowe and husband Chris, Lara Kelly and Patrick Kelly, all of China Grove. Marcellene is further survived by two great-grandchildren, Ashley and Ava Flowe and her niece, Jennie Lynn Cannady of Moncks Corner, SC. A graveside service will be held Friday, September 16, 2022 at 2:00 PM at West Lawn Memorial Park with Pastor Doug Hardin officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Susan B.
