

She was born on March 18, 1921 to the late Gilbert Henderson Ritchie and Ila Clementine Brown Ritchie. She was a Life Time Member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Mary was a devoted Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister and wife. When anyone else would have broken, Mary stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. There was no quit in Mary. Her Motto was “Be Strong”.
Mary is survived by her Daughter Nancy Henderson Poe, Grandchildren Kevin Henderson and wife Lisa, Sean Henderson and wife Kimberly, Timothy Henderson and wife Jennifer, Brett Sherrill and wife Sherry, and Karen Sherrill Watts and Husband Lee. Grandchildren Savannah, Sawyer, Mattox, and McCall Henderson and Levi Sherrill. A sister Lottie Simpson; brother Herman Ritchie.
In addition to her Husband Jason Eugene Sherrill and son Vernon Sherrill, Mary was preceded in death by brothers George Ritchie, Hoke Ritchie , Ray Ritchie and Jay Ritchie.
Visitation: Saturday November 19, 2022 at The Fellowship Hall of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church after the graveside Service.
Service: Graveside services will be held November 19th at 11:30 AM at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Mary may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 205 St. Paul’s Church Rd. Salisbury, NC 28146.
