Mrs. Maybell Dunn Burchett, age 94 of China Grove, peacefully passed away on Monday, November 23, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born April 18, 1926 in Chatham County, she was the daughter of the late Herman Dunn and Annie Jordan Dunn. In addition to her parents, her husband of 67 years, Charles James Burchett and her daughter, Gail Moye, also preceded her in death. Maybell was a longtime member of China Grove Church of God and she spent her career working in cotton textiles.
Maybell had a tremendous love for her family. She enjoyed not only family gatherings but friendly visits also, loved going for car rides taking in the surroundings and going out to eat. She loved spending time with her precious Tucker, her pet Maltese. She was a kind, compassionate and soft spoken person whom everyone loved to be around and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, James Norman Burchett (Patti) and daughters, Linda Hargett (Rick), Janie Henry, Charlene Whitley (Wayne), Ann Fisher, Sheila Goodman (Todd) and brother in-law, Fred Burchett. She also leaves behind her grandchildren; Lynn Farmer, Stacy Walker, Rhonda Donald, Larry Wayne Whittington, Scott Christy, Kenda Drinkard, John Fisher, Amy Hecker, Logan Burchette, Brittany Ketchie and Chance Henry, along with great-grandchildren, Brock Blume, Brook Farmer, Lane Walker, Chase Drinkard, Landon Drinkard, Lainey Fisher, Max Hecker and Laura Whittington.
Visitation for Maybell will be on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 from 1:00 – 2:00pm at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow in the Chapel at 2:00pm officiated by Rick Hargett. Committal Service at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove will follow immediately at 3:00pm.
