Mildred M. Morris Axsom

Mrs. Mildred Morris Axsom, 84 of Salisbury, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at her residence. Born on October 17, 1929 in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late Jim and Lula Knight Morris. Educated in the Rowan County Schools, she was a lifelong member of South China Grove United Methodist Church. She retired from China Grove Textiles, having worked in the winder room. Mrs. Axom enjoyed doing puzzles and crosswords. Those left to cherish her memory is her husband of 65 years, Enos Axsom, sons Michael Axsom (Pamela) of Charlotte and Larry Axsom of Kannapolis. In addition to those, she is survived by grandchildren, Brad Axsom (Emily), Matthew Axsom (Robbie), Jonathan Axsom (Crystal), Angela Thompson (John), Alana Axsom and two step grandsons, Josh and Joey. Also survivng her are her great grandchildren, Connor, Madison, Emory, Brynn, Ayden and Ally and two step great grandchildren, Jayden and Ava.

Visitation will be on Saturday from 1:30 til 2:00 at South China Grove United Methodist Church, with funeral at 2:00 also at the church with Dr. S.B. "Doc" Warner, officiating. Mr Axsom, I am deeply saddened to read that "Momma" , as you so kindly referred to her, has moved to her new home. Know that your in my heart and mind and I will pray for you in the days to come. Larry,i'm sorry to hear about your Mother,I didn't know her but working with you i heard many wonderful things about her. I KNOW SHE WAS A VERY STRONG LADY.Larry, just know now she's with God a brand new body no more pain and no more sickness.Larry, I know it still hurts but put your full trust in God and he will help you through this.What a wonderful Christmas present your mother got this year everything new.Larry if you need anything I'm just a call away.
