Mildred Overcash

She was born on September 04, 1933, to the late John Caleb and Lottie Sloop Goodman.

In addition to her parents, Mildred was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Homer Caldwell Overcash; prior deceased husband Wade Jasper Overcash; son, Roger Wade Overcash; Grandson Kurtis Bentley; brothers Carl Goodman, Elmer Goodman and Walter Goodman; sisters, Dorothy Weddington, Gladys Weddington and Margaret Cress.

Mildred was a 1951 graduate of Landis High School. She was also a loving housewife and cook. She loved baking for her children and taking the elderly places they needed to go. She retired after 25 years as a substitute teacher for the Rowan-Salisbury School System.

Mildred was a lifelong member of Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church teaching Sunday school. She was also a WELCA member.

Mildred loved spending time with her family and grandchildren who knew her and loved her deeply.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Terry Overcash (Ginger), Steve Overcash and daughter Karen Overcash Freeze (Jeff) and her sister Ola Mae Harrison. Also, Connie Overcash Bentley (Larry).

Mildred is further survived by her eight grandchildren: Rusty Ritchie, Holly Helton, Justin Quantz (Jenny) and Elizabeth Freeze, Amanda Carter (Cory), Andrea Hafner (Zack), Brittany Dunham (Shane), Ashley Overcash; Thirteen great-grandchildren, Emmaleigh, McKenna , Brianna, Remy, Nora, Stella, Alice, Maximus , Alexander, Faelyn ,Jasper, Nehemiah and Ameliah; She also had many nieces and nephews she loved.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, January 29th, 2025, from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm at Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church with service to follow at 2:00 pm in the Sanctuary of Mt. Moriah. The committal will follow in the church cemetery. The Reverend Tim Kneuss will be officiating the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church at 750 Mt. Moriah Church Rd, China Grove, NC 28023.
