Born in Watauga County on June 16, 1937, he was the son of the late Conrad Denvard Hodges and Mary Lillian Greene Hodges.
Norman served in the United States Navy from 1955 – 1967 and was a member of Crown Pointe Baptist Church, where he served on various committees and as a deacon.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brother, Denvard Hodges.
Norman spent many years teaching Business Management at Rowan Technical College and retired from Catawba College as Maintenance Manager.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 65 years, Jean Jordon Hodges; three sons, DeWayne (Tammy) Hodges, Curtis (Scarlet) Hodges and Danny (Rabiah) Hodges; one sister, Amy Snoddy; four grandchildren, Amanda Kesler, Cody Hodges, Cassie Hodges and Cullen Hodges and one great-granddaughter, Lilly Kesler.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 22, 2024 from 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home.
The funeral service will begin at 12:30 PM in the Northcrest Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Gene Beaver officiating.
A graveside service with military honors will begin at 2:00 PM at Salisbury National Cemetery.
