He was born on September 24, 1926 in Wilkes County, NC to the late Mary Jane Blevins and Don Bare. He was educated in the Wilkes County schools. He was a brick mason by trade, but could do most anything.
Odell was always active in church work when his health permitted and he was a charter member of the Airport Road Church of God.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Shirley Bridges Bare; sons, Victor (Vic) Odell Bare, James Michael (Mike) Bare, Alan Bare, and John (Johnny) Lee Bare; daughter Linda Bare Watson; and step children Eddie Bridges and Daphne Bridges Peacock. He is survived by sisters Edith B. Clement of Sparta, NC, Gladys B. Castor of Salisbury, NC, and Jeri B. Beck of Salisbury, NC. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Visitation: Visitation will be Friday, December 14, 2018 from 12:30- 2:30 pm at Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove, NC.
Service: The funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Ted Burke and Rev. Bill Coughlin officiating. Burial will follow the funeral service at West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove, NC.
