

Pamela Burns Hawks, age 72 of Jamestown (previously of Landis), peacefully passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Randolph County Hospice after her courageous battle fighting cancer. Born February 13, 1949 in Poughkeepsie, New York, Pam was the daughter of the late Floyd John Burns and Eleanor Osterhoudt Burns. In addition to her parents, her husband of 36 years, Gene Hawks, her sister, Drena Burns and her brother, Gary Burns also preceded her in death.
Pam served others passionately as a long-time member of North Kannapolis United Methodist Church and as a loyal volunteer with Rowan County Board of Elections. In her spare time, Pam enjoyed crafts, sewing, house projects and gardening. Pam was a loving wife, mother, daughter, and grandmother who always put her family first. Her grandchildren were her joy, and she cherished every moment she spent with them.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Keith Miller (Kelly) and Lance Miller (Tammy) along with her daughter, Jolene Henning (Keith). She also leaves behind her brothers, Jeffrey Burns (Carol) and Thomas Burns and her step-daughters, Susan Boger (Sam), Tammy Jones and Cindy Thompson. Pam also leaves her precious grandchildren, Patrick Miller, Aaron Miller, Christina Miller, Maddie Henning, Sadie Henning and six step-grandchildren, Theresa Boger, Leann Boger, Ashlyn Dunn, Lauren Dunn, Jessica Dunn and Glenn Jones, Jr.
A Celebration of Life Visitation for Pam will be on Friday, August 20, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00pm at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove. Memorial Service will be on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 10:00am at North Kannapolis United Methodist Church with Inurnment to follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
