Robert Monroe Brown, 75, passed away on August 23, 2026. Born on December 20, 1950, Robert was the son of his late parents, Jess and Evelyn Brown. He was a longtime resident of China Grove, North Carolina.
Robert was preceded in death by his son, Steven Brown (Spanky), and his granddaughter, Sabrina Brown.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Sheree Brown; his children, Chad Brown (Lindsey), Travis Brown (Nicole), and Laurie Davis; his brother, Ricky Brown (Alison); his sisters, Betty Morris (John) and Terry Waller (Bob); and his grandchildren, Kayla Welch, Tara Keys, Eric Utah Lisk Jr., Casey Brown, Felecia Brown, Colby Brown, Lily Brown, Eli Brown, Ava Brown, Mia Brown. In addition, there are many great grandkids and nieces and nephews who will continue to hold him close in their hearts.
A devoted family man with a kind heart, Robert carried himself with steady diligence and a simple, grounded way of living. He was known as a fair man who never wanted to overcharge anyone, and who would go out of his way to help others when he could. His hard-working spirit was matched by a warm, good-natured humor that made time with him feel easy and familiar.
Robert loved going to church, and his faith remained an important part of his life. He also enjoyed playing the lottery, building bird houses, and following baseball—everyday pleasures that suited him well, because he never wanted for much beyond the comfort of home and the company of those he loved.
A visitation will be held on August 27, 2026, from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Piedmont Baptist Church on Wright Rd. The funeral service will follow at 1:00pm at the church. After the service, a graveside service will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park at 2:30pm.
