Robert "Bobby" Rushing

Born October 1, 1961 in Rowan County, he was the son of the late Robert Lee Rushing and Janie Lou Stirewalt Rushing.

Bobby graduated South Rowan High School and retired from Freightliner in Cleveland, NC. He continued to work doing auto body repair and painting.

He was a member of Ebenezer Lutheran Church and loved rescuing stray animals. Bobby was a member of the Speedway Club and loved watching and attending NASCAR races.

Those left to cherish his memory are his uncle, Bill Earl Stirewalt; cousins, Janice Hunt, Larry Jones, Johnsie Wilhoit, Gwyn Brantley, Rita Teal, Darlene Goodson and Donna Oehler and his two feline companions, Victor and Chase.

The family will receive friends Thursday, February 27, 2025 from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home.

The funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM in the Northcrest Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Bob Young officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Rowan County Animal Shelter 160 Adoption Way, Salisbury, NC 28146.
