Robert Craig Weaver

Mr. Robert “Craig” Weaver, age 68 of China Grove, passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2021 unexpectedly at Atrium Health – Main in Charlotte. Born August 5, 1952 in Forsyth County, NC, Craig was the son of the late Robert Edwin Weaver and Francine Carter Weaver. In addition to his parents, Craig was also preceded in death by his sister, Susan Anne Weaver.

After graduating high school, Craig went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army where he served at Ft. Riley, Kansas then on to serve in Germany as a communications specialist. When he returned from his service, he attended Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte obtaining his paralegal certification. He then continued on to receive his Bachelors of Science degree from Phieffer University. Craig spent his career working and helping make a difference with individuals with mental and developmental disabilities; a very rewarding career.

In his spare time, Craig was a history buff – loving all historical facts, events, movies and information. He loved watching Russian Car Crashes on YouTube along with another favorite show, “Fail Army”. He would laugh for hours at both of these favorites. He loved jokes and was a “gifted” joketeller and making impressions of famous people. Craig was a communications specialist while in service which gave him a love for “tinkering” with old radios.

Those left to cherish his memory is his precious wife, Sandra, whom he happily married on May 4, 2013. He also leaves behind his family with Sandra and three cousins along with his fur babies, Leia and Laci.

Gathering of Friends and Family will be on Thursday, July 15, 2021 from 2:00 – 3:00pm at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home. Memorial Service in the Chapel will begin at 3:00pm officiated by Pastor Trent Drye. Immediately following, we will then proceed to the front lawn to conclude our service with Full Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, Sandra has asked that you kindly remember Craig with memorials in his honor to the Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarrior.org.
