OBITUARY

Thomas Aaron Taylor

November 26, 1929January 19, 2021

Mr. Thomas Aaron Taylor, age 91 of Burlington, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Cone Health – Alamance Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. Born November 26, 1929 in Landis, Tom was the son of the late John Frank Taylor, Sr. and Marriett Goodman Taylor. His loving wife of 60 years, Mary Emojean “Jean” Deal Taylor and his daughter, Beverly Jean Taylor Boerner of Greensboro preceded him in death.

After graduating from Landis High School, Tom proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean conflict. After his service, he attended NC State University in Raleigh where he earned his Bachelors and Masters of Science degrees and became a chemistry professor at Forsyth Tech in Winston-Salem. Tom was an avid golfer and was the golf coach during his time at Forsyth Tech. He loved rabbit hunting and spending quality time with his family.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Thomas Alan Taylor (Ioana) of Elizabeth City; grandchildren, Thomas Alan Taylor, Jr. of Greenville, NC, Stephanie Jean Taylor (Kim) of Columbia, SC and Robert F.V. Taylor of Elizabeth City. He also leaves behind his brother, Rev. John F. Taylor, Jr. of Edinburg, VA and his sister, Dora Anne Folkert (Robert) of Las Vegas, NV.

On Friday, January 22, 2021 at 11:00am, the family will greet friends at Linn-Honeycutt – Landis, 716 South Main Street, Landis, NC. Graveside Service with Full Military Honors will begin at 12:30pm at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.linn-honeycutt.com. Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Mr. Taylor.
