William Steven Parsons

William Steven Parsons, a resident of China Grove, North Carolina, was born on September 30, 1948 in Iredell County, North Carolina, and passed away on December 12, 2025, at the age of 77, at 1:54 PM at his home surrounded by family. He had been in declining health for quite some time and was under the care of Hospice.

He was married to Janet Efird Dixon Parsons for 33 years. He attended AL Brown and then went into the US Army, where his career was an Air-Traffic Controller. He did acquire his GED and the classes required to become the air-traffic controller and computer skills for work as a deputy when he lived in West Jefferson, NC.

His career before becoming disabled was a truck driver for Dixie Trucking of Charlotte and Food Lion Warehouse in Salisbury. He has resided in China Grove, NC for the last 33 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dolph Parson and Eva Irene Parson; his brother, Jimmy Parsons; sisters, Virginia Parson , Coleen Parson Helms and Stepson, Eric Howell.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife; children, William Steven Parsons, II (Julie), Scott Wayne Parsons (Julie), Sandy (Casey), Tabatha Wing, Jessica Sides, and Joseph Dixon. He was also blessed with 19 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren to date and his sisters, Dagney Parsons Helms of Charleston, SC and Agatha Parsons Overcash of Kannapolis.

He became a member of Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church, where he has been active for 33 years.

Memorial donations may be made to Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church or to St. Jude Children's Research, as both were important to him during his time.

The family will speak to friends on Friday, December 26, 2025 from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM at Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church.

A Celebration of LIfe service will begin at 1:00 PM at the church with Rev. Kay Overcash officiating. A private burial will take place in the church cemetery.
