Bernardina "Verna" Rodriguez Our loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, Bernardina "Verna" Rodriguez, 89 of Chino, passed away April 15, 2014, at Arrowhead Medical Center in Colton with her devoted and loving family by her side. She was the fifth of eight children born to Luciano and Eluteria Villalpando on August 20, 1924 in Somerton, AZ. At the age of three her parents came to Chino to raise their young family. In 1946, she married the love of her life, Margarito Rodriguez who went to be with the Lord in 1990. Margarito built their home in Chino, there they raised their three children, including their first great-grandson, Robert "Chulo" Guillen. She was the best homemaker and cook, baking the best desserts ever tasted. She is survived by her sister Lena Villalpando, daughter Rosalie/Gilbert Gonzales, son Eddie/Becky Rodriguez, daughter Jeannie/Gilbert Briones. She had 8 grandchildren Darlene, Anna, Eddie Jr, Paul, Michelle, Valerie, Kristy and Eileen. 32 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grand- children. There will be a viewing April 24th, 2014 at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Chino from 5 to 8pm with rosary at 7pm. Her mass will be celebrated at OLG on April 25, 2014 at 10:30 am . She will be laid to rest with her husband for eternity at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd in Riverside, CA. A reception will be held in celebration of her new life at the American Legion 13759 Central Ave. Chino.
