She was born in Switzerland to Balz and Katherine Rohrer on February 18, 1921 and moved with her brother, Louis, to the family dairy farm when she was 2 years old. She attended Mountain View School and graduated from Chaffey High School in 1939. She is survived by her daughters Kathy Briggs (Richard), Shirley Jackes (Norm), Donna Omlin, and son David Omlin. Additionally, there are six (6) grandchildren; Cindy Agostini, Karin Langwasser, Mark Madole, Debbie Madole, Julie Duke-Martin, Kelly Mattocks, and eleven (11) great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, Anton (Tony) Omlin. She was also preceded in death by her son, Tony Omlin Jr., and two daughters, Betty Madole (Larry) and Linda Brouse (Linden).

Elsie and Tony Omlin started their dairy business in 1941. Tony and Elsie’s hard work won them a lot of respect and many awards in the dairy industry. They had the highest butterfat producing herd State wide, in the Dairy Herd Improvement Association (DHIA) in 1972 competing in the 300 to 400 cow category. Elsie kept the payroll, did the bookkeeping and co-managed the family business, while Tony did the farming, milking and managing the herd until they retired in 1978. Elsie will be lovingly remembered as a great mother, a fantastic home maker and an excellent cook by all who knew her. She was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Chino and the Mountain View Woman’s Club in Ontario.

A Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. April 13th, in the chapel of Funeraria del Angel Mortuary Chino (formerly Pierce Brothers/Griffith), 13002 So. Central Avenue, Chino. When I envision Elsie, I see her beautiful smile. She always made me feel special, as she did with all who knew her. A warm hearted soul. May you rest in peace in the arms of our Lord. (Picture taken 2012, 50 years after my baptism with Godmother Elsie and Godfather Joe Omlin)
