Mom, Gram, Auntie Fran, passed away with family at her side Wednesday evening, May 8, 2019 at Kindred Hospital in Rancho Cucamonga, California at the age of 76.

She was born on June 12, 1942, in Brooklyn, New York, to Felicita Perez.

She enjoyed watching old black and white movies, musicals, singing to Frank Sinatra while playing mahjong, reading all things related to the science of the mind and writing about anything and everything that set her soul on fire.

She was a steadfast and true member of the Democratic Party and donated funds her entire life to every cause and charity imaginable as she fully believed in the power of "One person can make a difference, and everyone should try" - John F. Kennedy

She believed in the power and protection of the 7 Archangels and would send Angels to all she loved and encountered throughout her life during nightly prayers. Her strength and resilience from this belief radiated through her time and time again after each obstacle life threw her way.

Most of all she loved her family from the West Coast to the East Coast. Preceded in death by her beloved son Jose J. Madrigal, with whom we know she is safe and comforted presently. Survived by her husband of 54 years Javier Madrigal, three sons Christopher Colon, Anthony Colon, and Richard Colon; two daughters Deanna Chavez and Sonia Madrigal Nuno; several grandchildren;several great-grandchildren; and one sister, Eleanor Arnau. She also leaves behind many other family members and friends with whom she has left a permanent mark etched on our hearts and will be supremely missed.

Bomb, a thing Sonia and I came up with, who knew it would be a word that represents the best, the most, something so good- all you. I think about you almost everyday. Just as when you were still on this earth. It's just hard to know I can't come to you for your awesome words of wisdom anymore. My favorite thing about you is how real you were. Down to earth. So caring. One of my favorite memories is of you and Javier always having a live musician or band play in the room in Roasarito and dancing together. I am honored to have been taken in by you and your family as one of your own. Part of the awesome trinity that you spoke of. Godmother to your first grandbaby. I can go on and on about how much you have meant to me, and it would be long and winded. I KNOW you know. You will forever live in our hearts. I love you bomb.
