Helen was born in San Diego County to Raymond and Ruth Davis, the second of three beautiful girls.
She was raised in the Los Angeles and Santa Monica areas. Upon graduating from high school
she became a telephone operator and met her husband-to-be John Bradshaw. They were married
in the Catholic Church and provided the benefits of a Catholic upbringing and education to
their three children; John, Barbara and James.
Over the course of her lifetime, Helen had a successful career as PBX Operatorator and Secretary
with the Los Angeles Board of Education.
Billie’s true passion in life was entertaining others. She was an awesome singer and dancer.
Upon retiring, she and John moved to Paradise, CA where they joined the ‘Pines Players’,
a senior group that performed musicals. Billie sang and John played the guitar. For 12 years
their life truly was “Paradise”, until John passed away in 1989.
Five years later, Billie moved back to So Cal to be closer to her adult children and their families.
She bought a home in ‘The Colony’, a senior living community in Riverside and joined the Colony Chorus
where she continued to entertain others. Her talents were much in demand. Helen would readily agree
to sing a solo arrangement at most events hosted by the Chorus. In addition to singing, Helen loved to
dance, play Bridge and tennis. Helen delighted in travelling to various destinations with her friends
and visited many places of interest both foreign and domestic.
Helen spent the last four years of her life at Pacifica Hillsboro-Assisted Living in Chino, CA where she
continued to brighten spirits and bring cheer to everyone. The family is forever grateful to the staff and
residents who befriended our mother and treated her with respect and compassion.
A loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, & and great grandmother – Helen is survived by her sister
