He was born on August 28, 1927 in Biscoitos Ihla Terceira Azores and arrived in the United States in July 1966 to pursue the American dream. He worked as a milker for 31 years and had a great passion fro gardening. Family and friends enjoyed fresh fruits and vegetables from his garden each year.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Mary; daughter Francisca Waller, and son Manuel. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church on Thursday, September 21, 2017 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM with Vigil/Rosary at 6:30 PM. Funeral mass will be held at St Margaret Mary Catholic Church on Friday, September 22nd. at 11:00 AM Entombment will follow at 1:00 PM at Bellevue Mausoleum in Ontario.
