On Sunday, January 10th, 2021, Jose Guadalupe Aldana, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, passed away at the age of 82.

Jose or as he loved to be called “Lupe” was born on December 22nd, 1938 in Arenal, Jalisco Mexico. Throughout his life he worked as a farmer, a fisherman, a chauffeur for the Ruiz family, and a machine operator a job he held until his retirement in the 2003.

Lupe immigrated to the US during the bracero program in the 1950’s after which he headed back to Mexico. In 1975 he met his wife Eva and together they immigrated to the United States in pursuit of the American dream. With immense determination and hard work in 1986 they purchased their home in La Puente, California where they raised their family. Lupe proudly became a United States citizen on February 4th, 2000.

Lupe was a loving, humble, honest, compassionate, and hard-working man. He was known by many for his vivid storytelling of the olden days which generally started off with his saying “in those times” as well as for having the best proverbs and spontaneous singing.

Lupe was preceded in death by his father Paulo Aldana Rosales, his mother Felicitas Ocampo, his siblings: Maria Aldana, Pedro Aldana, Carmen Aldana, Santiago Aldana, Andres Aldana, Jose Aldana Ocampo, Gregoria Aldana and granddaughter Ana Aldana. He is survived by his loving wife Maria “Eva” Angelina Aldana and his children: Alfonso Aldana, Armando Aldana, Guillermo Aldana, Sylvia Aldana, Lupe Aldana, Maricela Aldana, Imelda Aldana, Javier Aldana and Carolina Aldana, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Note from Lupe's children: Your example and your beautiful smile taught us to walk through life, your affection gave us peace of mind and your love gave us happiness. It's hard to go on without you. You left an emptiness in our hearts but we thank God for lending us an angel as a father. We love you Apa.

**** El domingo 10 de enero de 2021 falleció a los 82 años José Guadalupe Aldana, amado esposo, padre, abuelo, bisabuelo.

José o como le encantaba ser llamado “Lupe” nació el 22 de diciembre de 1938 en Arenal, Jalisco México. A lo largo de su vida trabajó como campesino, pescador, chofer de la familia Ruiz y operador de maquinaria el puesto que ocupó hasta su jubilación en el 2003.

Lupe emigró a los Estados Unidos durante el programa bracero en la década de 1950, luego de lo cual regresó a México. En 1975 conoció a su esposa Eva y juntos emigraron a los Estados Unidos en busca del sueño americano. Con inmensa determinación y trabajo duro en 1986 compraron su casa en La Puente, California, donde criaron a su familia. Lupe se convirtió con orgullo en ciudadano de los Estados Unidos el 4 de febrero de 2000.

Lupe era un hombre cariñoso, humilde, honesto, compasivo y trabajador. Muchos lo conocían por su vívida narración de los viejos tiempos que generalmente comenzaba con "en aquellos tiempos", así como por tener los mejores dichos y por cantar espontáneamente.

Lupe fue precedido en la muerte por su padre Paulo Aldana Rosales, su madre Felicitas Ocampo, sus hermanos: Maria Aldana, Pedro Aldana, Carmen Aldana, Santiago Aldana, Andres Aldana, Jose Aldana Ocampo, Gregoria Aldana, y su nieta Ana Aldana. Le sobreviven su amada esposa María “Eva” Angelina Aldana y sus hijos: Alfonso Aldana, Armando Aldana, Guillermo Aldana, Sylvia Aldana, Lupe Aldana, Maricela Aldana, Imelda Aldana, Javier Aldana y Carolina Aldana, así como muchos nietos y bisnietos.

Nota de los hijos de Lupe: Papa tu ejemplo y tu hermosa sonrisa nos enseno a caminar por la vida tu carino nos dio tranquilidad y to amor nos dio felicidad. Es dificil seguir la vida sin ti. Te fuistes y dejaste un enorme vasio en nuestros conrazones pero le damos gracias a dios por prestarnos un angel como padre. Te amamos papa.
