

Maggie Valdez, 86 years of age, passed away on November 27, 2013 surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born to Miguel and Refugio Garcia on April 13, 1927 in Los Angeles. The family moved to Chino when she was just 4 years old where she grew up on Anderson Street, known as Canta Ranas and was a Chino resident for the past 82 years. As a young girl Maggie worked as a field laborer to help support her family. Maggie continued to work many jobs until she went to work for California Brass Manufacturer Company in 1960 as a Supervisor Lead Lady. She retired in 1995 after 35 years of employment. In 1950 she married Henry M. Valdez. Together they raised their 7 children, cared for several grandchildren and hosted many gatherings at their home on 4th & “B” Street in Chino. Maggie enjoyed her time with family, friends and neighbors. She liked to cook, bake, sew and needlework. In her retired years she especially enjoyed spending time with her dear cousins and friends traveling and visiting casinos in the surrounding areas. Maggie was a kind hearted lady with a pleasant sense of humor and will truly be missed by many. She was proceeded in death by her husband Henry and her son Henry Jr. Maggie is survived by her children Ricardo Valdez (Liz), Stella Quinones, Ruth Martinez and Fermin Valdez all of Chino, Marlene Delgado (Manuel Valencia) of Montclair and Joey Valdez (Virginia) of Alta Loma. She is also survived by her brother Mike Garcia Jr., sisters Lucy Vicario and Mary Garcia of Chino, 21 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
