Rosemarie Noreen Smith

Rosemarie Noreen Smith was born in Erie, PA on February 19th, 1915, and passed away peacefully with her family by her side on April 21, 2011. In recent years she resided in Chino Hill, CA to be close to her children but always considered Big Bear City her home. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Big Bear Lake and St. Paul the Apostle Church in Chino Hills.

Formerly married to Paul Vincent Benson and thereafter Charles William Smith, both deceased , she is survived by her two children, Kathleen Ann Odenwald and Paul David Benson. Rosemarie was blessed with five grandchildren and four Great grandchildren.

Paul and Rosemarie relocated with their two children to South Gate, CA 1955 where she took employment with the South Gate police Dept. as a Matron and records clerk. In 1964 she married Charles. They purchased their home in Big Bear City, CA in 1996 where they both became very active in the community. A member of the Moose Lodge and Women’s Club, Rosemarie was a volunteer at Big Bear Community Hospital and a Certified Handwriting Analyst.

She will be fondly remembered for her knitting, crocheting, abundance of energy, rosy disposition, and love of family and God.
