Scpo Edison T Inay USN

Edison T. Inay, 75, of Chino, passed away on June 5, 2014 in Ontario. He was born September 19, 1938 in the Philippines. Edison lived in Chino for 36 years. He served and retired from the U.S. Navy. Edison was a correctional officer for the State of California for 14 years until his retirement in 2007. He was a faithful parishioner of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Chino. Edison belonged to the Navy Fleet Reserve and the VFW. Edison T. Inay retired as a Senior Chief Petty Officer from the US Navy on October 31, 1980. During his 21 years of active service, Ed served as Maintenance Material Control Officer, Aviation Supply Chief, Senior Chief Petty Officer of the Command and was qualified as Officer-of-the-Deck in port. During the Vietnam War, Edison was attached to the Navy Support Activity Danang in Vietnam providing logistics support to the Third Marine Amphibious Force and other Third Country Combat Forces. He was awarded five good conduct medals. Edison was authorized to wear the National Defense Medal, Humanitarian Services Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Navy Unit Citation, and Merit Unit Citation with Gallantry Cross.

Following his retirement from the Navy, Edison worked for more than 10 years as an Inventory Control Clerk with General Telephone in Pomona. In 2007, he fully retired after finishing his career serving as a Youth Correctional Counselor for the State of California in Chino.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Flordeliza Inay of Chino; daughter and son-in-law Eileen and John Simon of Yorba Linda; daughter and son-in-law DeAnna and Steve Prescott; and 4 grandchildren Stephen Dean, Austin, Owen and Evan Prescott, all of Chino. A visitation with rosary will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, June 16, 2014 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Chino. A mass will be celebrated 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at the church.
