

John “Jack” Garvey, age 84 of Choteau, Montana passed away peacefully in Choteau, MT on June 24, 2010 with family and friends at his side. At this time, no services are planned and cremation has taken place under the direction of Gorder Funeral Home of Choteau.
Jack was born and raised in Easthampton, Massachusetts with seven siblings. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he served his country during WWII.
He later met and married Gertrude Egan from Medford, MA and together they moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan where he attended college and earned his degree in aeronautical engineering. They relocated to Los Angeles in the 1940s during the height of the aircraft industry boom. He was employed by McDonnell-Douglas, Boeing and The Hughes Corp.
Jack and Trudy raised four wonderful children and lived in a beautiful California neighborhood until 2007 at which time they moved to Montana to be near their daughter. He made friends easily and will be remembered by all who knew him for his jovial demeanor, great sense of humor, and infectious laugh. He will be dearly missed.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Trudy, and several siblings.
He is survived by his eldest son, John Garvey of “Mono Feliz”, Panama; his son, Brian Garvey, of Aptos, California; his eldest daughter, Sheila Zohrer of Choteau, MT and his youngest daughter, Jean Rachubka of Kalispell, MT.
