Those who knew Ana will remember a woman whose devotion to family was steady and unmistakable, someone deeply beloved for her faithful presence, her gentle manner, and a kind-hearted spirit that made others feel cared for in quiet, lasting ways. Her love was most clearly felt in the time she shared with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she cherished dearly.
Ana also expressed her care through the simple, meaningful gifts of home, especially in the kitchen. She loved to bake, particularly candy, and had a remarkable way of making something wonderful out of whatever was on hand. In that everyday creativity and warmth, she offered comfort, generosity, and a sense of togetherness that will be remembered with love.
Ana is survived by her beloved husband and best friend, Santiago Maxmillano Romo Bustamante, and her daughter, Leana Lynn Haley. She is also lovingly remembered through her son, Adam, and her Daughters, Mariah, and Leana; as well as her 6 grandchildren and 4 great grand children. Ana is further survived by her brother, David Sonderegger and his wife Pi-Chu.
She was preceded in death by her father, Fredrick Sonderegger; her brother, Fred (Butch) Sonderegger; and her sisters, Ruthy, Gayle, and Goritta Sonderegger.
A Visitation Service will be held at Palm Memorial Worden Chapel, 140 South 6th Street, Chowchilla, California, on August 18, 2026, at 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with Rosary being held at 6:00 pm.
Mass Service will be held at St. Columba Catholic Church, 213 Orange Ave, Chowchilla, California, on August 19, 2026, at 10:00 am.
