Born in a place called Little Axe, Oklahoma on October 24, 1933 to Gilbert and Reppard Mooneyham, she was the eldest of three children. She worked for years as a CNA at the Chowchilla Convalescent Home until her retirement.
Later she married Glenn Bishop on December 12, 1953 and together had three children Bobby, Steve, and Kenny. Barbara loved coffee, chocolate, opera, game shows, animals, church, sewing, fishing, thrift stores, yard sales, collecting cookie jars, and spending time with her family.
Barbara is survived by sons Bobby and his wife Judy of El Paso, Texas, her son Steve and his wife Susan of Escalon, California; her grandchildren David and his wife Valerie of Fresno, California; Brad and his wife Charis of El Paso, Texas; Lisa of Oakdale, California; Kevin and his wife Arlene of El Paso, Texas; Justin Bowerman and his wife Melissa of Chowchilla, California; Monica of Merced, California; Kenny of Chowchilla, California; and Josh of Chowchilla, California; Her Nieces Cheryl, Robin, Beverly, and Laurie of Oklahoma; Her Brother in law Ray Conner of Oklahoma; 12 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
Barbara was preceded by her parents Gilbert and Reppard, her husband Glen, her son Kenny, her brother William (Sonny), and her sister Joyce.
Barbara was a kind woman with a caring soul and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and a friend to many.
A Funeral Service will be held at Church of Christ, 701 Trinity Avenue, Chowchilla, California, on June 10, 2026, at 10:00 am
A Graveside Service will follow at Chowchilla District Cemetery, 23359 Road 14 1/2, Chowchilla, California, on June 10, 2026, at 11:15 am.
A Reception will be held at Church of Christ, 701 Trinity Avenue, Chowchilla, California, on June 10, 2026 following services.
