Beatrice Ann Muchow

Ann Muchow, 74, passed away July 5, 2026 at home.

Ann was born on March 5, 1952, in Muskogee, Oklahoma to the late John Dittmar and Olleta Marshall. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Nina “Judy” Smith; and her brothers Arthur “Butch” Bobo and John Dittmar.

Ann married Dale Muchow on November 4, 1973; together they had one son, Mike. Mike married Chrisy in 1997 and in 2003 her only grandson, Kyle was born. Ann’s family was small, but very close and she loved all of them fiercely.

Ann is survived by her husband Dale Muchow; her son, Mike Muchow (Chrisy); her grandson, Kyle Muchow; her brother Joe Dittmar; her niece, Michelle Linhares (Chris); her nephews, Don Smith (Lindy), Joseph Dittmar (Candace) and Chris Dittmar (Elle); her great nieces, Savannah Linhares, Sierra Linhares and Taylor Dittmar; her great nephews, Noah Linhares, Zachary Smith, Zayne Smith, Zayden Smith, Austin Dittmar (Jenna), Chandler Dittmar and Chase Dittmar. She is survived by many other loving nieces, nephews and cousins as well.

When she was young, Ann worked as a chef at Sportsman’s Hall in Pollock Pines, and ran an all female chain saw crew for the logging industry. When she moved to Chowchilla as an adult, she helped at her mom’s restaurant, Marshall’s Drive-In, worked at Child’s Truck Line, and waitressed at Tea Garden and Corsaro’s Italian Restaurant. When she was young, she was an avid water skier and enjoyed being a part of the bowling leagues in Placerville and Chowchilla.

Ann and Dale loved to travel and explore the outdoors, with her favorite trips being Yellowstone and the Tetons, Alaska and most recently the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. She was a voracious reader and was not often without a book and later in life her digital reader. She usually had a wonderful wild garden in her backyard that many admired. Her primary focus in life was her family; she enjoyed Muchow family birthday dinners and especially Christmas where just the five Muchow’s spent the whole day together playing games, doing puzzles, eating great food and enjoying each other. She loved spending time with all of her family and attending their events, but was especially fond of being with Kyle. Kyle was her world and being his grandma was her greatest joy in life.

Ann will be remembered for her quick wit, for having an answer or finding an answer to every question in life, for knowing the most random facts, for being fun, loving and interesting. But most of all for the fierce love she had for her family.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 11:00am, at Valley Harvest Church’s Faith Hall, 717 Robertson Boulevard, Chowchilla, California.
