Carl Wayne Grissom

He graduated from Le Grand High School in 1964. He was a member of FFA serving as Sentinel and President each for one year. He was a member of the Chowchilla DeMolay throughout High School and went on to attend Cal Poly San Louis Obispo before joining the United States Army in 1967. During his tour in Vietnam he was awarded the Silver Star, Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. Wayne was a member of the Chowchilla American Legion. He was involved in the Chowchilla Little League as a Senior League Coach. He was the head of the CUHS football stadium bathroom project and was an outstanding member of the Athletic Boosters where he served as President for 5 years.

He is survived by his wife Anne (Acree) Grissom, sons Shawn (Dee) Grissom and Chad (Brittany) Grissom. Six Grandchildren Kelby, Keryn, Kirsten, Sarah, Nick and Emily Grissom. One brother Delbert "Shorty" (Karen) Grissom. Two sisters Jeanie (Mickey) Shaw of Merced and Patty Amis of Searcy, Arkansas.

Visitation will be held on Monday March 28, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Palm Memorial Worden Chapel in Chowchilla. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday March 29, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at Chowchilla Cemetery District. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Chowchilla Athletic Foundation Baseball or Chowchilla Little League.
