" I WILL GO IN THE STRENGTH OF THE LORD GOD: I WILL MAKE MENTION OF THY RIGHTEOUSNESS, EVEN OF THINE ONLY, O GOD. THOU HAST TAUGHT ME FROM MY YOUTH AND HITHER TO HAVE I DECLARED THY WONDEROUS WORKS. NOW ALSO WHEN I AM OLD AND GREYHEADED, O GOD, FORSAKE ME NOT; UNTIL I HAVE SHEWED THY STRENGTH UNTO THIS GENERATION, AND THY POWER TO EVERY ONE THAT IS TO COME " ~ Psalm 71: 16-17
As we remember the life of Opa, we remember him for his dedication to the Lord and his devotion and knowledge of God's Word. This far outweighs any successes this world could offer. Opa was convicted of the truth of God's word and had a passion for sharing salvation to those around him. This is where our rest and peace come from. Because of his dedication to the Lord He was able to leave this world and his family with a heritage that is rich in the Lord. A legacy of commitment and obedience as he honored the vows he made to his wife of 62 years, loving and providing for her. Teaching his children to have a heart of obedience and a knowledge of God's word. He was able to set an example for 3 generations that will continue, the Lord willing, for many more. He taught us all to appreciate and value a full day of hard work and a job well done. Teaching us that "Whatever you do, do it heartily as to the Lord, you will receive the reward of inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ." Colossians 3:23
