Christine was born to Benjamin and Lula Wortham on December 2, 1929 Quinton, Oklahoma. After graduating high school in 1948, Christine, along with her new husband Bobbie Bussey and her family, relocated to Chowchilla, California. Upon arriving, she and Bob worked in the fields picking cotton. She then went on to deliver newspapers and ultimately landed a job at Chowchilla High School in the laundry department.
Having settled down with 2 young children of their own, Christine and her husband purchased a piece of land where they began their family-owned and operated business, Bussey’s Mini Storage.
In addition to owning Bussey’s Mini Storage, Christine was an active member of the International Association of Rebekah Assemblies. More commonly known as The Rebekah’s. She spent much of her free time in leadership roles for the organization and thoroughly enjoyed the relationships she formed and being apart of a sisterhood bonded by friendship, love and community. Christine was full of light, love, compassion and the occasional sass. Traits that were ever present to most, even after just a single meeting. We will miss her more than words can say.
Christine was survived by her son Ron Bussey (Rhonda), brother Frank Wortham (Paulette), sisters Colleen Womack and Charlene Duncan, and her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob Bussey, daughter Sharon Bump, grandson Jason Bussey, sisters Noreen Wortham Harp, Norma Wood, Lurlene Lewis and brother Gary Wortham.
