Connie Vernice Sanders

Connie Vernice Sanders, age 98, passed away on September 1, 2017 in Chowchilla, CA. Connie was born November 4, 1918 to Charles and Neocia Wallen in Oklahoma. As a youth, she moved to Chowchilla in the 1930s with her mother and siblings after the death of her father. Connie married Cules (CD) Sanders and they raised two children in the home built by CD. Connie enjoyed sewing and quilting. She took pride in her vegetable garden and canning the products from her harvests. She nourished the people around her with love, faith, and wisdom. Connie is preceded in death by her parents, siblings (Buster, Mamie and Bonnie) and her husband. She is survived by her son Kenneth (Karen) Sanders, her daughter Norma Carter, 3 grandchildren: Trisha (Kevin) Wylie, Scott (Codie) Sanders, and Amanda (Josh Orton) Flanagan, and 7 great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be held on September 15th, 2017 at Palm Memorial Worden Chapel at 140 S 6th St in Chowchilla from 5pm-7pm. Funeral services will be held at the same location on September 16th, 2017 at 10am with burial to follow at the Chowchilla Cemetery.
