Glen Michael Beaird was born to Raymond and Olive Beaird in St. Louis, Missouri on March 10, 1962 and passed away peacefully on July 26, 2018 in Chowchilla, California at the age of 56 years.

Glen previously lived in St. Louis, Missouri and Mesa, Arizona. After graduation he attended college, where he received his Associates degree in Broadcast Journalism. Glen loved being a DJ, and for several years worked for KTOM out of Salinas, CA. He then pursued his career in pastry distributing and operated Brownie Baker for many years.

In 2005, Glen decided that Chowchilla would be a great place for his family, and they made this city their home. Glen became very active in the community. In 2012, he began coaching the Farmers Insurance Little League team, and most recently for the Chowchilla High School Varsity Baseball team. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, but his favorite part of baseball was watching his son Daniel play.

Glen was an active Director for the Chowchilla District Chamber of Commerce and Chowchilla Rotary Club. Glen loved Chowchilla and did all he could to make everyone’s world better.

In 2012, Glen became a funeral arranger and worked for Palm Memorial Worden Chapel in Chowchilla and Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home in Merced. He was very dedicated to the families he served and was committed to serving them with all of his heart.

Glen was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Beaird; brother, Bill Beaird, and grandmother, Freda Cissell.

He is survived by his wife, Rachel Michelle Beaird; son, Daniel Beaird; mother, Olive Beaird of Mesa, Arizona; and sister, Carla Hulseweh and her husband Terry of Gilbert, Arizona.

A Celebration of Glen’s life will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Chowchilla High School Baseball Field, 805 Humboldt Avenue, Chowchilla, CA.

Due to Glen’s love for baseball, the family is requesting that you wear your favorite baseball or Chowchilla Tribe Apparel.

“For it’s one, two, three strikes, you’re out, at the old ball game.”

Glen, I’ve only known you a little over a year now, we met through work. I just started at Stratford Evans and I remember one Saturday I was working with you here at Stratford Evans on a family service and we were talking afterwards and I remember you asking me how do you like it so far and I said I like it a lot and there is a lot to learn yet and you told me treat everyone as family and that you got this kid you’ll do fine (even though I’m older). You made me feel so comfortable so I knew I was where I needed to be. You gave me the inspiration to show all families the sincerity, compassion, and care. You lead by the example and I still practice this today. Your time was cut way too short by this world’s standards, but GOD had other plans for you. I know you’re there in heaven greeting our families and friends as they arrive telling them all "You got this, it will be fine". You will be dearly missed by all that knew you. Someone has very big sneakers to fill. Our thoughts and prayers are for his family and friends.

Dear Glen,
Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd open this page to see your smiling face in the obits. Working with you through Worden's and the Chamber of Commerce Board has been a complete joy. You were always available to help in any way possible and you will be remembered as one of this communities honorable servants. I will miss your kindness and your happy attitude, but I'm thankful you are no longer suffering. Rest in Peace my friend.

From the time we met at Starbucks in Chowchilla you always impressed me you were a good friend and I can always bounce different ideas off of you because you were such a great listener always inspiring positive and upbeat I loved it when you and Daniel would come out to the warehouse in Hanford and pick up your load of pastry always look forward to that Friday when you two would show up we had a great ride together and I’m gonna miss you dearly thanks for being such an awesome friend . Rachel and Daniel I pray that you find comfort in the days weeks and months ahead he definitely left you a legacy big shoes to fill but I know Daniel can do it because he is his dad's son. God speed my friend I will see you on the other side . Jay Rubalcava

Glen was not only a great talker, but a better listener. He would always take time for you and was truely concerned with any conversation. A great community member always involved. He will always be remembered for his smile and even being a little known radio personality from KTOM. Kinda funny how it fit his fun outgoing personality and laugh. He is truely missed and prayers for the family.

You were one of the greatest men I knew. Work will never be the same. We enjoyed teasing you about the "scary room", making you listen to all the girl talk, and listening to all of your motivational quotes and advice. You were an amazing funeral arranger, and watching you guide and care for our families was amazing. I loved the 30 emails a day that I would get from you, and we loved to listen to how much you loved and cared for Rachel and Daniel. I will never understand why he took you so soon, but I'm thankful that your were a part of my life.

I worked with Glen for a short time at Stratford Evans. I’m so saddened to hear about this. He was the sweetest, most kind person you could have ever known. My condolences to his family.

Such a kind man, when we were doing a pre-arrangement contract. Also worked with Glen providing rosary and funeral services. He will be greatly missed!
