Grethel was born in Ola Arkansas on August 11, 1934 to her parents Curtis and Bessie Mae Foster.
Grethel is survived by her son James "Jim" Capehart; her daughter in-law Kelly Marie Capehart; and her son in law Bobby Ragsdale; her granddaughter Kristina Tatom, granddaughter Jennifer Winters, granddaughter Samantha Moody, grandson Matthew Davis, grandson Nicholas Capehart and granddaughter Emily Busby. She also is survived by 12 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
Grethel loved flowers, so she started working with flowers and making arrangements in her garage on Avenue 22, then after a few years she moved to town and opened All Occasion Floral & Gift.
Mom loved her husband, children, grandchildren almost as much as she loved her Jesus. We will miss her playing the piano, singing her favorite gospel songs, hearing her pray for her family and friends, and sitting with her in church.
Grethel was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 68 years Robert "Bob" Eugene Capehart; her daughter Carolyn Ragsdale; her father Curtis Mark Foster and her mother Bessie Mae (Poe) Foster; her grandson Geoffery Tatom.
A visitation service for Grethel will be held Friday, September 29, 2023 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Palm Memorial Worden Chapel, 140 South 6th Street, Chowchilla, CA 93610.
Funeral service will occur Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 11:30 am at Chowchilla First Assembly of God Church, 317 Orange Avenue, Chowchilla, CA 93610.
Graveside service will follow the service Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Chowchilla Cemetery, 23359 Road 14 1/2, Chowchilla, CA 93610.
Serving as pallbearers are Nicholas Capehart, Matthew Davis, Brian Hansen, Stanley Busby, Steven Winters, Damaryra Moody and Samuel Winters.
