

Judy Karen Desha was born on September 17, 1946, in Madera, California and passed away peacefully in the arms of her children by her side on December 24, 2025, in Chowchilla, California. Judy attended Elementary and High School here in Chowchilla. Judy loved to travel, family gatherings, and enjoyed going to the local casinos. Judy spent most of her employment in the fast-food industry working as a cook at local establishments like The Mammoth Orange, Spradley’s Drive Inn, and Marshalls Drive Inn for those who can remember. She also spent many years working in the Cafeteria of Madera Community Hospital. Judy not only worked very hard for everything she had, but she was Loving, kind and compassionate to everyone around her. Even after retirement Judy took a part time job with a travel agency, and she traveled all over the United States to places like Alaska, Mount Rushmore, Grand Canyon, and Nashville which she enjoyed very much.
Judy is survived by her sons Dwayne Desha of Chowchilla, Robert Desha of Rio Linda, California, Richy Desha of Chowchilla. Her sisters Audine Gorrell of Yokuts Valley, CA, Lavonne Dillmar of Little Rock, Arkansas. She is also survived by her grandchildren Josha Desha, Dustin Desha, Dena Desha, and Alexis Desha, Judys great grandchildren Dusty Desha, and Madison Desha along with many nieces and nephews.
Judy is preceded in death by her father Charles Roy Holbert (Red) and Mother Hazel Holbert. Also, by her brother Charles Holbert, niece Beverly Cook and her granddaughters Tiffany and Stephanie Vaught.
Graveside service will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Chowchilla Cemetery District.
