Pauline Boatman

Gladys "Pauline" (as we all know her by) Boatman (Bartley) was born January 11, 1947, in Madera, California to the late Bynum Henry & Lucille Beatrice (England) Bartley she was 75 years old and proudly a lifelong resident of Chowchilla, California.

On December 04, 2022, she found her way home surrounded by her family and a very loving medical team in Coalinga, California after an unexpected illness.

She was a strong independent woman, growing up the only girl of seven children. She was named after her late maternal Gladys (McConnell) England-Carson and her paternal grandmother Pauline (Presley) Bartley.

Pauline was a tomboy and never let being a girl stop her. She worked as a Candy Striper and dreamed of becoming a Nurse, but life happens, and she became a Waitress, Mail Carrier, Winery Truck Loader, Class A Truck Driver, and Welder until finally spending 35 years as a Property Manager.

She has been retired since 2014 and spending time with her Children Susan (Jimmy) Wood of Chowchilla and Delbert “Dub” (Judy) Boatman of Coalinga, 7 Grand, 15 Great Grand, and 3 ½ Great Great Grandchildren.

She was married to the late Delbert Doyle Boatman and is survived by her faithful companion DOG.

She was a member of the Church of Christ in Merced, California and was a Kiwanis Ann member proudly working on the Playground Equipment and Senior Center projects.

Her six brothers and their wives Jimmy (D) & Dolores Texas, Hubert (D) Chowchilla, Herbert Wayne & Bonnie (D) Nevada, Larry & Connie Merced, Donald & Melody Chowchilla, Vernon & Heidi Bartley Chowchilla.

A viewing service will be held at the Palm Memorial Worden Chapel on December 14th from 6:00-9:00 pm, and Graveside service on December 15, 2022 at 2:00 pm, at the Chowchilla Cemetery where she will be interred next to her Grand Daughter Katrina Leanne Wood.
