Rosalie Patricia Andrews, affectionately known as Rosy to her many friends and loved ones, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2025, in Chowchilla, California. Born on November 22, 1929, in Dadeville, Missouri, Rosy's vivacious spirit and loving nature touched everyone she met throughout her 95 years.
Rosy was preceded in death by her devoted parents, Leonard Basil Stephens and Lois Lucille (Hembree) Stephens; her loving husband, Jerry Andrews, whom she married in 1954; her dear brother, Dale Stephens; her sister-in-law, Alice Stephens; her cherished sister, Loretta Gilliam; and her brother-in-law, Corky Gilliam. She was also predeceased by her niece, June Stephens.
Her legacy lives on through her adoring family: her nephew Randy (Bobbi) Stephens of Atwater, California; her nephew Larry (Trish) Payton, of Idaho; Nephew Justin (Kaci) Stephens, of Atwater, California; her niece Shelby Payton of Idaho; Her niece Becky (Dave) Magill, of Montana; and Crystal Warren, her special person and companion for the last six years, of Chowchilla, California. Each of them will hold dear the memories of Rosy's love, guidance, and infectious joy.
At Rosy’s young age, the family moved to Merced, California where Rosy received her education in the Merced School Districts before embarking on a career that showcased her elegance and grace. She began her professional journey modeling for local dress stores, radiating charm and poise. Later, she joined her husband Jerry in the furniture business. Together, they worked side by side in various furniture stores until they established their own successful Furniture Store Business in Chowchilla, which they passionately operated for 40 years.
After retirement, Rosy's love for people and zest for life were as evident as ever. She became a beloved fixture in the local coffee shops, where she enjoyed her lunch and the company of friends both old and new. Rosy's warmth and genuine interest in others created a circle of friendship that extended far beyond her immediate community.
Rosy was a woman of passion for life, she approached each day with a loving heart and a spirit that inspired those around her. Her laughter was contagious, her stories captivating, and her presence a source of comfort and joy.
In her 95 years, Rosy lived a life full of love, faith, and passion a life well-lived and full to the brim with experiences and relationships that were deeply cherished. She will be remembered not only for the life she lived but for the love she gave freely and the light she brought to every room. Rosy's spirit will forever be a beacon of love and joy for all who were blessed to know her.
As we bid farewell to Rosalie Patricia Andrews, we celebrate the remarkable woman she was and the enduring impact she made on the lives of so many. Her memory will be treasured, her stories retold, and her love felt always. Rest in peace, Aunty Rosy.
A Graveside Service for Rosalie will be held Thursday, June 12, 2025 at 2:00 PM Chowchilla District Cemetery, 23359 Rd 14 1/2, Chowchilla, California.
