Sarah Elwanda (Wanda) Faria was born in Coleman, Oklahoma on October 23, 1928 and died on May 20, 2020 in Chowchilla, California. Wanda was a graduate of Chowchilla High with the class of 1948. She married Manuel (Shorty) Faria on April 11, 1948 and they had four children. Wanda was a homemaker until the loss of her husband, then entered the workforce as a cook at Chowchilla Convalescent Hospital, eventually becoming their head dietician until her retirement. Wanda enjoyed working in her yard, listening to country music and spending time with her grandchildren. She especially looked forward to her summertime trips to visit her relatives in Texas. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed making everyone their favorite dish or dessert. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, William and Della Burris, and all 9 of her siblings. She was also preceded in death by her husband Manuel Faria and her granddaughter Brandi Silva. Survivors include her son Manuel Faria Jr. (Olivia)of Fresno, son Albert Faria, daughter Donna Faria, daughter Darlene Faria (Jim) all of Chowchilla, six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, sister-in-law Mary Bispo of Merced, many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

She was loved and respected by all that knew her and will be deeply missed.

Due to Covid-19, graveside services will be held at a later date as to allow everyone to attend.
