She was the beloved wife of Clyde Lee Roy Carr for 63 years. She was his whole world, and she loved keeping him on his toes. Together, they made countless memories. They served as camp hosts at Camp Redwoods and other parks and served at the Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ.
Throughout her life in Chowchilla, Ann found joy in helping others. She worked at the local schools and volunteered with the brown bag program and the Hospice Thrift Store. But her favorite job of all was spoiling and teasing her grandkids and great-grandkids.
Ann’s family was the center of her world. She loved spending time with them, whether they were thrifting, crafting, or just sitting around and talking. Known for her creativity, she passed down a treasure trove of handmade gifts, clever ideas, and useful skills. She had a sharp wit, a big heart, and a never-ending stack of Louis L’Amour books and John Wayne movies.
She is survived by her son, James “Jimmy” Carr and wife Mary; her daughter Leanna Pettitt and husband Ricky; and her daughter Tammy Elliott and husband Bradley. She also leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild who will miss her dearly and remember her fondly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Roy, who passed in 2021. He was no doubt waiting for her at heaven’s gates with open arms and a loving look. She is also preceded in death by her Father, Frank Valdon, Mother and Step-Father Ruth and Gilbert "Red" Merritt, and her brothers, Vern and Clifford "Sonny" Valdon.
