Violet Parker was born to Helen and Alford Mitchell on June 23, 1920 in St. Louis, Missouri and passed away on January 11, 2017 at the age of 95 in Madera, California. Violet was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Chowchilla where she had previously worked as the secretary. In her free time she enjoyed cooking and sewing. One of her favorite outings that she was well known for consisted of her putting on her stilettos to go dancing. She was exceptionally fond of painting as well as crafting outfits for her porcelain doll figurines. Violet was a very prim and proper woman, she was very particular about everything having a place of it's own. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Madera Rehabilitation Hospital for the attentive, loving care they provided Violet with. Violet is preceded in death by her Husband, James Harvey Parke; parents, Alford C. and Helen Pearl Mitchell; son, Edward Ronald Parker and her sister, Elieen Brown. She is survived by her daughter, Dolores Pratt; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. A visitation will be held on January 17, 2017 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Palm Memorial Worden Chapel located at 140 South 6th Street in Chowchilla, California. A graveside service will be held on January 18, 2017 at 11:00am at Chowchilla Cemetery located at 23359 Road 14 1/2 in Chowchilla, California. Arrangements are under the direction of Palm Memorial Worden Chapel.
