Barbara “Barb” Hoffman, age 86, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2024. She was born June 25, 1937, in Circleville, Ohio, to the late William A. Hoffman, Sr. and Elizabeth (Cave) Hoffman. She is survived by her sister, Joan Theado of Circleville; longtime friend Linda Weberding of Cincinnati; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings John Moore, Mary Margaret Mader, Catherine Rettemnier, William “Billy” Hoffman Jr., Frances Masengale, and Charlotte Paxton.
Barb graduated from Circleville High School, class of 1955, and moved to Cincinnati to work for Cincinnati Bell Telephone Company, where she served 31 years. She was a member of St. Aloysius Gonzaga Catholic Church in Cincinnati. Barb enjoyed working in her yard and spending time with family and friends, and loved watching the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals. She was a devoted daughter and adored by her nieces and nephews who loved their “Aunt Barb.”
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, 134 W. Mound St. in Circleville, Fr. Ted Machnik the celebrant, with interment to follow at Saint Joseph Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children or St. Joseph Church, Circleville, Ohio.
