Carol Jean Faerber

Carol Jean (Sue Hamrick) Faerber, 78, of Circleville passed away on February 24, 2023 surrounded by family. She was born in Webster Springs, WV on June 28, 1944 to the late Eldred and Rufina (Cole) Hamrick. She moved to Columbus, OH and then to Stoutsville, where she enjoyed raising her family in the country. The job she enjoyed the most was being a homemaker. She loved canning, sewing, knitting, quilting, baking and eating sweets. She had a passion for helping those with the greatest need and making sure others did not go without. Her greatest talent was making others feel welcomed and like family, resulting in many calling her Mom or Grammy.

She volunteered for Ladies Auxiliary of Amvets, Slate Run Historical Farm and making baby quilts for Touching Little Lives.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth Faerber; sister, Nettie Gower and niece Melissa Gower.

She is survived by daughters Donna (Bruce) Kountz, Roberta (Chris) Caudill, Karen (Kevin) Schrimpe; son Kevin Smith; grandchildren, Michael (Michelle) Kountz, Katelynn (Mark Evans) Kountz, Zachary (Carrie) Kountz, Cory (Kate) Kountz, Hannah and Molly Caudill, Strat and Steve Johnson; great grandchildren, Kylee, Annarae, Kalyse, Shep and Paisely. Also survived by brother Oren (Lynn) Hamrick; sisters Judy Martin, Sharon Patrick, Cammie Fowler and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 2, from 5pm until 7pm at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger, 151 E. Main St, Circleville, Ohio 43113, with the funeral the following morning at 11:30am at the funeral home.
