

Judy was born September 14, 1939, in Columbus, Ohio, to Howard and Jean Hosler. She graduated from Walnut Township School in 1956 and Ohio State University in 1960. A lifelong learner, Judy shared her passion for learning and reading with countless elementary students during her years teaching at Jackson Township School, Kay Avenue School, and Circleville City Schools.
Always active, Judy loved spending time in nature, hiking at her farm, and most of all, spending time with family and friends. She was always in attendance for sports and other activities of her sons and grandchildren. Anyone who knew Judy could expect to be greeted with a smile and homemade cookies. Her timeless style and effortless manner of making everyone feel welcome will always be remembered.
Throughout her life, Judy was actively involved in the local community serving in various capacities with the Circleville Junior Woman’s Club, the Child Conservation League, Berger Hospital Guild, the Ted Lewis Museum, and the Gardenwood Garden Club.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Roger Bennington, and her sisters Jary, Jeanne Steele (John), and Jo Anne Beaver (Neil), and her brother-in-law Ron Bennington and sister-in-law Barbara Bennington. Judy is survived by her sons; Jeff (Trina) of Circleville, and Kevin (Nicole) of Circleville; grandchildren Ella and Kelton; step granddaughter Lyndsay Martin (Justin); step great grandchildren Logan and Cora; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 3-6 p.m., Monday, July 20 at Defenbaugh-Wise Schoedinger Funeral Home, 151 E. Main St. Circleville. Per Judy’s wishes, a private family service will be held at a later date.
