Paul is survived by wife (Lillian) Carole White of Grove City, Ohio, daughter Anastasia (fiance Steven Buehler) White, father Roger White, sister Julie White, and nephews and niece Eric Curry, Nick (Sarah) Curry, Ashlee Winkle, Nick (Emily) Winkle, Rich (Kristen) Griffith, Dan (Sarah) Griffith, and John (Patrick Murphy) Griffith, as well as 13 nieces and nephews.
Paul was predeceased by his mother Wilma J “Lynn” White.
Paul graduated from Logan Elm High School in 1981 and was a member of the marching band. Until his last breath, he was always a marching band kid. Paul graduated from DeVry University in 1984 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Science.
After college, he moved to Columbus and taught Business Administration classes at Bliss College until the Summer of 1985. His roommate introduced him to the love of his life, Carole. Paul and Carole started dating in the summer of 1985 and got married in April, 1988. Anastasia became their daughter in July, 2000 through adoption from Russia. She was most definitely a Daddy’s Girl from day one.
Paul started his career at Nationwide Insurance in September, 1985, as a computer programmer on agency systems. Paul held countless roles at Nationwide, topping his career off as an IT Delivery Executive. Paul retired from Nationwide in January, 2019. He worked at NetJets after retiring until January, 2020.
Retirement for Paul meant a new lake house at Buckeye Lake with his 403 family. He also bought a pontoon boat and was finally a captain. Paul volunteered as an Ombudsman for residents of Skilled Nursing Facilities.
It was clear to everyone who knew Paul that family and friends were an important element in his life and frequently captured his audience with stories about them. He told all the stories as many times as he could, laughed inappropriately at every chance, loved who he wanted to love, and brought joy to all of us.
Although a less than average life span, Paul did not live an average life. Paul died knowing every life moment had humor somewhere. Meeting a stranger and learning their story was ALWAYS worth the cost of a beer. Anything you can say can be put on a t-shirt. The world is a stage and he was his own favorite audience.
