Rebecca J. (Collins) Valentine, 80, of Saltcreek Township, passed away on August 31, 2023 at Wyngate after a battle with Parkinson’s. She was born to the late Robert and Esther (Waliser) Collins in Circleville on October 21, 1942.
Becky Was a 1960 graduate of Saltcreek High School and a 1963 graduate of Grant Hospital School of Nursing. She married her high school sweetheart, Denny Valentine, June 13, 1964. Denny preceded her in death in 2005.
Becky was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Saltcreek Valley Grange, and the Pickaway Historical Society.
She started her career as an RN at Berger Hospital in ER and OB and finished working at Northridge Family Practice as Dr. Vernon Bolender’s nurse. After retiring she became a greeter at Defenbaugh Wise Schoedinger Funeral Home.
She is survived by daughter, Denise (Keith) Kerens of New Philadelphia; sons, Jason Valentine, Kingston, and Troy (Elena) Valentine, Kingston; 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, brother Bob (Pat) Collins; sister Darlene (Mike) Woodward; and brother-in-law Kenny (Ruth) Valentine.
The family will receive friends from 4pm until 8pm on Tuesday, September 5 at Defenbaugh Wise Schoedinger, 151 E. Main St, Circleville; and again from 10am until 11am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 135 E. Mound St, where the funeral will immediately follow with Chaplain Jim Ferrell, officiating. Interment to occur at Tarlton Cemetery.
