Stella Knece

Stella Knece, age 85, went peacefully to be with her Lord Friday, July 31, 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer. Stella was born October 16, 1940, in Circleville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Everett and Elsie (Rutter) Brown.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Knece; her daughter, Terri (Brown) Chapman; her grandson, Lee; her brothers, Everett “Brownie” Brown, William "Howard" Brown, and John Brown; and her sisters, Betty Collett, Thelma Nutter, and Martha Robinson.

She is survived by her loving children: Doug Arledge (Lora), Lisa Barath (Bill), Lori Laudner (Trent), and Amy Arledge; and her niece Lydia "Jeannie" Brown (Ray).

She was the cherished grandmother of James (Lindsey), Jill (Kelly), Joshua, April (Ben), Holli (Will), Cochise, Naiche, Jacob, Delaney, Mariah, and Madison. She was also a proud great-grandmother.

Stella was a lifelong resident of Circleville who loved spending time with her family. She was an avid reader, loved watching crime shows, and QVC. She will be greatly missed by many.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Lung Cancer Research Foundation.

Private Services will be held on Wednesday August 5, 2026
