Dorothy was born September 8, 1928 in Sims, IL to William Marshall Powless and Ethel Legg Powless. She married John Henry Galbraith February 24, 1946 in Sims, IL. He preceded her in death by less than one day.
For many years she was a member of the Brush Creek Church and was an ordained Elder there.
Dorothy worked at the Brown Shoe Factory in Flora and also the dress factory in Wayne City, but her true love was Galbraith’s Ceramic Shop which she owned and operated for over 30 years.
She is survived by two sons John and wife Karen Galbraith of Foristell, MO and Noel and wife Dava Galbraith of Opdyke, IL. Survivors also include six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and all her siblings.
Funeral services will be 1PM Sunday, January 24, 2016 at Brush Creek Community of Christ Church at Zenith and burial will be in Brush Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7PM, Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne.
Memorials may be given to Brush Creek Church and will be accepted at Hosselton Funeral Home.
