Esther Ingeborg Obrecht

Esther Ingeborg Obrecht, 94, of Flora, Illinois formerly of Cisne, IL, passed away at 10am Friday December 13, 2013 in Flora.

She was born the daughter of Emil and Elizabeth Ingeborg (Erickson) Burkland on March 25th, 1919 in Bridgeport, West Virginia. She married Kenneth E. Obrecht January 30th, 1944 in Whiting, Indiana.

Esther was a homemaker and retired Supervisor at Bell Telephone at Alton, Illinois. She was a member of the United Methodist Women Enterprise West, Enterprise U.M. Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher for many years, the East Cisne Home Extension, Evergreen Garden Club of Cisne, and Board Member of Wayne Co. Home Extension for several years and Eastern Star Lodge #973.

Survivors include a daughter Karen (Marvin) Cole of Cisne, IL; and son Ken (Karen Ann) Obrecht of St. Louis, MO. 6 grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 3 brothers.

Services for Esther Ingeborg Obrecht will be conducted at 10AM Tuesday December 17th, 2013 at the Enterprise U. M. Church in Enterprise, IL, with burial in the Cisne Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 7pm Monday at the funeral home. Hosselton Funeral Home of Cisne, IL, is in charge of all the arrangements.
