Harry V. Norton

Harry was born September 12, 1941 at Bradley, IL to Clyde E. and Inez May Lemke (McGee) Norton. He and Lorna Reed began their life’s journey together January 23, 1966 at Kankakee, IL.

He was a retired painter for Local 33 at Joliet, IL. Harry enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and camping. He was a member of the South Wilmington Sportsman’s Club; New Lenox Sportsman’s Club; a thirty-one year Mason currently a member of the Anthony Doherty Masonic Lodge 1111 at Cisne and a member of the Eastern Star Lodge.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War Era serving in the National Guard and Air Force.

Harry is survived by his wife Lorna of Cisne, IL; mother-in-law Dora Reed at Cisne, IL; three brothers Burry (Pat Norton of Kankakee, IL; Roger (Betty) Norton of Collierville, TN; and Donald (Thereese) Norton of Wilmington, IL; brothers-in-law Leslie (Carol) Reed of Alabama; Logan (Ina) Reed of Sims, IL; Donald Reed of Cisne, IL; sisters-in-law Donna Solomon of Cisne, IL and Marilyn Butler of Geff, IL. He enjoyed being with great nieces Kylie, Abby, Rihanna and Jayla and one great nephew Lucas and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were three children Michael Vincent, Debra Ann, and Rebecca Jean, his parents, and father-in-law the late Leslie Reed.

A memorial service for Harry Norton will be 10:30AM Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Hosselton Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date. A Masonic service will be at 10:30AM Saturday, prior to the start of the memorial service.

Memorials may be given to Clay County Hospice and will be accepted at Hosselton Funeral Home.
