
He was born in Louisville, Illinois the son of David Christian and Jessie (Daugherty) Porter. On April 12th, 1947 in Morganfield, Kentucky he married Bernita Barnfield and to this union four children were born. He was a former Driller in the Oil Fields and farmer. Henry loved people and he was loved by all who knew him. He loved to visit family and friends and also rabbit and coon hunting, the coffee shop, watching the Cardinal’s play ball and playing ball with his grandchildren. He was a life- long member of the Red Brush Christian Church in Louisville and was a veteran of WW2.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Herschel and Jason Porter, sister Caroline Canny.
Survivors include wife Bernita of Louisville, sons Gary (Rita) Porter and Steve (Judy) Porter all of Louisville, IL, daughters Bonnie Porter of Louisville and Vonda Lee (Stan) Jones of Vienna, IL, brother Dewey Porter of Flora, IL. and sister Edna Mae Sefton of Flora, IL. Grandchildren Devona (Doug) Haws, Cody Scott, Kerri (Adam) Schackmann, Holli (Steve) Schultz, Josh Porter, Amy (Jeff) Walker, Mandy (Brad) Clark, Davie (Chris) Jones-Runyon, Dusty Jones and Kassie Jones. Great Grandchildren Kelci and Kollin Haws, Destiny Scott, Addisyn Schackmann, Kyle Porter, Kylee Schultz, Alaya Price Schultz, Morgan, Bryce and Zain Walker, Brady Clark and Lucy Clark and Hadlie Runyon who’s on the way and by a host of family and friends.
Services will be conducted 2:00PM Monday February 20th, 2012 at the Red Brush Christian Church in Louisville, IL. Burial will be in the Red Brush Cemetery. Visitation is from 1 PM till service time at the Red Brush Christian Church in Louisville, IL. Arrangements by Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne, Illinois
