Hester A. Pennington

Hester was born December 13, 1923 at Keenes, IL to Ebbie S. and Nellie M. (Pressgrove) Austin. She married Robert W. Pennington November 14, 1942 at St. Charles, MO and he preceded her in death April 21, 1999.

Hester was a homemaker, taught Sunday School at Round Prairie General Baptist Church where she was a member for many years, and a member of Geff Ruritanettes.

Hester is survived by one son Kim (Kathy) Pennington of Cisne, IL; 3 grandchildren Ryan Legg and his wife Holly, Joshua Pennington and Jaclyn Strickland, 4 great grandchildren Payton & Elin Legg, Kimberlyn and Corbin Strickland, and one sister Alberta Bailey of Mt. Vernon, IL.

Preceding her in death were one daughter Trudy Legg, brother Oval, sister Nellie Mae, her husband and parents.

Funeral service will be held at 1 PM Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015 at Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne and burial will follow in Round Prairie Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015 at the funeral home.

Memorials in Hester’s memory may be given to Round Prairie Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
